Fashion: How to wear brogues

Wearing high heels seven days a week is not practical so if you want a change from pumps why not try wearing brogues? Looking stylish in brogues can be tricky, they are masculine and not everyone can pull them off but with the right accessories ladies you can look stylish.

“The trick to perfect this trend is to marry girly innocence with rock chic along with large quantities of attitude,” Vogue writer Shruti Thacker.
The beauty of the brogue is that it allows you to mix both masculine and feminine aspects in your outfit for a quirky look.
The key is to wear them with something feminine so stick to something that shows your legs off like a dress or denim shorts with tights.

High heeled brogue shoes are also available. Many take the form of brogue shoe boots, which look fabulous with cropped tailored trousers such as peg leg trousers. Team your trousers with a feminine top and a rolled-up sleeve blazer for a high fashion, minimum-effort outfit.
If you’d rather wear jeans, opt for ankle skimming trousers or fold the cuffs of your jeans. They can also be worn with rolled up jeans for a fashionable look or with a floral dress for an individual style, remember, brogue shoes look best with bare ankles too.
